Awareness Through Movement®   

Feldenkrais, Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons are conducted in a group setting. As a student, you actively participate in the learning process as you are guided through a series of elegantly designed movement sequences. Attention is focused on ways to reduce effort and make the movements easier. Natural grace, coordination, and flexibility are learned rather than forced.

The Feldenkrais lessons usually take place on mats on the floor, but are also taught in chairs, standing and walking. The lessons are adaptable to different physical abilities, and can be used to improve virtually any activity. During these lessons people learn new flexibility and ease of movement in a very short time. Often habits of stiffness or tension immediately melt away. This remarkable improvement results from learning to change neuromuscular habits, without stretching or forcing.
